Hi Freber,

I can usually get the translucent effect from the "matt glass" material and
tweaks in the advanced properties.

For diffuse/soft shadows I turn a rectangle into a special light source -
can be very costly in render time but the effect is often very sweet.

And for me, RS remains a tool that is often used in my studio.
