The idea is to have an independant set of help snippets that could be
used as documentation for the sample databases in an m:n relation. The
databases only need to store the correct help index key to show a
certain aspect to the learning user.

Ah, that sounds interesting. Having a button in a form saying "How do I
do this" which, when clicked, opens the help page ... would be quite cool :)

If I am not mistaken ( and I often am ) use of the XHP format files will allow us to call up these help files in the standard way F1, no need for special buttons.

Not going this route, of using XHP and integrating into the help system, could be done for sure and might even be faster - in this case then use we would need special buttons or menu items.

FYI - I have added a couple of new pages to the wiki - one of interest to all might be http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/OOOForum_posts_and_associated_databases

A couple of other things -
I have not heard much about a scenario for the database, does anyone have any ideas on this or comments on what I have proposed so far. Without any feed back I will just start down the road of working one of them, but would hate to have the group decide on a different one after I begin.

If you look at the new wiki page I listed above it should become clear why I mentioned the three businesses I did on the real world scenario page. Using an existing database to begin work any one of those types of businesses could be used. Each would offer a broad coverage to techinques and issues I believe.

Let me know what you think...sooner is better then later...

Drew
