The problem here is not that which others may have in opening files from - I simply save them in doc format before sending them - but my ability to open files in docx format that others have sent to me. With 2.4.1 installed, attachments are opened in the latter by default. What I should like to be able to do is to be able to choose to open a docx file I've received as an attachment to an email message in 3-dev instead. I've not yet been able to figure out how to do so, and should be most grateful for any tips you can provide.... If I find any bugs, I shall certainly report them ! But at the moment I'm so overjoyed at being able to use SCIM and enter Unicode glyphs again that I can't even conceive of something being wrong. This euphoria will probably persist until something odd happens and I am once more cast down into the Ninth Circle.... Henri
