Thanks again, NoOp ! I don't use an email client like Thunderbird to access
my email (I do, use it, however, as a sort of backup, in case I suddenly
find myself locked out of my Gmail account), but rather prefer to access it
directly online. When in Swiftweasel or Firefox, I click on an attachment in
docx format to a Gmail message, a box with the following text opens :

You have chosen to open ------.docx,

which is a : Word 2007 document

from : https://mail.google.com

What should Swiftweasel/Firefox do with this file ?

[Radio button] Open with OpenOffice.org Ordbehandlare [Writer] (default)
[arrow]

[Radio button] Save file

[Box] Do this *a*utomatically for files like this from now on.

Plus a «Cancel» and an «OK» button.

If I attempt to open the file with the default, it opens in Writer 2.4.1,
which sometimes works and sometimes does not (?). What I should like to do
is to use the arrow to select Writer in OOo-dev3 as the word processor with
which the file is to be opened and make this the default for all files of
this type, but try as I might, I've been unable to find a way to do this.
Any suggestions ?...

Henri

PS : I'm shooting for a month !...
