The superior Déjà Vu translation memory software (see <http://www.atril.com> can handle OOo files (and many other file formats) directly.
Officially only the OOo 1 formats are supported at present (although this will hopefully change soon), but I understand that for many OOo 2 documents it might simply a question of renaming ODF files to their SX* equivalents prior to processing them in Déjà Vu.
