Hi crazy question! I am a computer applications teacher and we are
currently learning the symbols on the keyboard. Is there and ALT keyboard
command for the cent sign? I know lots of other shortcuts like ALT + 1, and
ALT + 167 etc. Help Me Please. The kids like to learn these.

Assuming you are using Windows, Alt +0162 gives a cent sign "ยข". Note: you
must enter the zero; Alt +162 is different. Note too that the numbers must
be entered from the numeric keypad with Numlock on.

For a complete list go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>System
Tools>Character Map. This will bring up a table of characters. Click on one
and look bottom *right*. If there is one, the Alt key combination will be
shown. Or you can drag the selected character into OpenOffice
Writer/Calc/...

Please note that the Character Map program is a standard Windows facility
and has nothing to do with OpenOffice as such.
