Hi Rachelle,
the symbol for the cent is not included in the original 'ascii' 127
characters, so it varies according to the key-code table you are using on
your PC. In table 437 (US), 860 (Portugal), 863 (Canada), it corresponds
to the 'extended ascii' (decimal) 155, (hex) 9B. In Unicode it is 00A2
hex, 162 dec. I don't think you can write it with ALT+key while you are
in Openoffice (there was a recent thread on this topic a few days ago)
but you can get it using 'Insert/Special characters', or pressing
'ALT-GR + c' (if you are under Linux OS).
