That's one of those statements that sounds real good if you say it fast,
and probably makes the utterer feel real good about themselves.
But it does not apply any sort of rational analysis to the very real
difference in reader-required effort between top and bottom posting in
an e-list setting. *That* difference is about a good deal more 
than mere "style".

Anyone who cannot understand that is operating, logically, at about
the level of someone who has to take their shoes off to count past 
ten.
