Troll/Idiot asked:
Is there something about a preference for bottom posting that
makes a person more likely to disparage someone else personally?
Valid reasons have been provided here to justify preceding one's
response with the citation to which one is responding and therefore,
the rhetorical question you asked above is both unjustified and
irrelevant to the purpose of this list, IMHO.
I meant that as a joke and EXPLICITLY (shouting intended) said so.
And I explicitly told you that the question you asked is rhetorical,
unjustified and irrelevant to the purpose of the OO list.
Yes, it is rhetorical. That is the nature of debate. Look it up. As
for whether it's irrelevant, you're entitled to your opinion.
As to whether it's unjustified, you're entitled to your opinion there as
well, of course. I assume you've looked over the thread for instances
of ad hominem attacks and noted who made them. If it's an issue that
doesn't concern you, just say so, or ignore the thread.
Lighten up. You'll enjoy life more. : )
I'm fine. You're not.
Thanks for the diagnosis. Please, relax a little -- really. This is
not a life and death matter.
... some (not all by any means) of the "top
posting is always wrong" crowd
1).- There is no "top posting is always wrong" crowd
There are people who have said that, but it it makes you happier, think
of people who say "top posting is always right" or choose ANY other
position on ANY other issue.
2).- Top posting is not always wrong.
Glad you agree, I guess.
have resorted to personal attacks, there are always some people
who will do that on all sides of every issue. It's not acceptable
in any case.
Nor are your tedious posts on the subject.
Sorry you find them tedious. When I find a thread tedious I generally
stop following it.
It almost sounds like you think I'm carrying on a conversation with
myself. If I'm imagining the other participants, perhaps I'm imagining you.
Perhaps no one complained about it because everyone was just tired of
the whole discussion. I hope that's the reason.
I agreed and asked that further discussion of the thread be taken
off list. You ignored that and drew this response - off list, as it
should be.
Excuse me for not acceding to your request. Your authority is...?
Generally threads will die out when everyone has had his say.
You've already taken up more than your share of band width and disk
space and abused the opportunity to contribute something of value.
I guess you haven't had your say yet. Say on. Expend some more
bandwidth. Also, see answer immediately above.
Personal abuse tends to prolong threads, so there's a practical
reason to discourage it when someone on your own side of an issue
stoops to it.
You are no one to categorize anyone else and I speak for myself.
Sorry, I don't see the relevance of your reply. Please explain.
Lastly, your flip, glib and onerous responses don't exactly draw out
the best in people.
I'm sorry if you find some of my responses flip or glib. I don't get
the onerous reference. What do you mean by it? I wouldn't usually use
that word like that.
I'm also curious; if you have found this so tedious, why have you
prolonged it?
