Hi Don,

I dissagree about the advantage of the Kerker over the Hindle. I have
dyno sheets and 1/4 mile time slips to prove that the Kerker makes a
significant power increase over the Hindle (new style). Torque came
in much sooner with the Kerker as much as 15 ft lbs at 3500 rpm and
4 ft lbs peak at around 5900rpm. NO DIP IN THE TORQUE CURVE!
1/4 mile trap speed increase was 3.63mph mean average. I even verified
that the weather conditions were close. SAME spark plugs. Only thing
different was the brand of oil I was using.

Also,
with the Hindle, I HAD to rejet. My 98 max fell flat on its face with
the stock needles. Used factory pro needles with stock mains at first.
Major improvement in Horsepower 118.5 up to 122.0 and no dip in the
HP curve. Change main jets and resync'd carbs a different way and went
to 126.8hp. 1/4 mile traps speeds increased by an average of 2 MPH.

I guess every bike is different...and its current state of tune and
mechanical
condition. I spend a lot of time on mine just to prevent failure as well as
to
increase its potential.
