Two questions in one mail.

My red light on the dash comes on more and more often. Two weeks ago checked the level
and was showing 3/4 of the oil window covered, still I could not understand why I had
the warning light coming on more often than before having the right oil level in the
crankcase. This morning I went out for a ride and this time it was ridiculous, since
every time I accelerated the light came on. Checked the level once more and this time
it was at the lowest position ever, barely showing on the window with the bike on the
centre stand. The question is obvious, where is the rest that was in there?

There are two options (as far as I know), since the engine does not leak:

1).- Burnt through engine early wear.
2).- Gone through the Stage 7 Kit breather system.

As for 1).-, I don't believe so since the engine runs well and no smoke can be seen at
any moment. The canister's internal pipes are dry and grey, plugs look good with a
light brownish colour.

The second possibility can also be ruled out since I would once again get black
canisters and plugs.

Any clues?

The second question is a bit more tricky. I'm riding out tomorrow on a long trip and
want to top-up the oil, but since I cannot grab hold of the Yamaha rep.(Easter
holidays and all that), I don't know what kind of oil he used, mainly if it is mineral
or synthetic. Does anyone know how to tell taking a sample from the engine?
