The dealer oil change arrangement is interesting ...

I don't think the restrictor would make any difference ... An
extremely light weight oil would make a difference. Soooooo .. since
your dealer is doing the changes .. and you are still under warranty
... lets try this from a different angle. Why don't you take it to
that dealer and tell him that you have noticed a decline in the level
of oil appearing in the sight glass ... and that you are concerned
that the engine might be eating it ... (and of course you would want
this behavior corrected while still under warranty).  Perhaps as a
result he might decide to use a heavier weight oil, (now that there
has been a swap to something that is unknown ... and it coincides with
this problem).
