Is this just a policy of your retailer? My v-max is still very much under warranty 
(it's 3 weeks old), but at this rate the counter should reach 1000km in 2-3 weeks and 
I plan on doing the oil change in the main sump and the final drive myself. I'll leave 
the rest to the dealer (carbs, valves, whatever else...) although I do plan on doing 
those myself once the warranty is over... Not that I don't trust my dealer for 
changing the oil, but it's such a basic
operation and for me such maintenance tasks are part of the fun of owning a 
motorcycle..

I didn't see anything in the warranty papers that forbade me from doing oil changes. 
Anyone know what the policy usually is on this?
