I don't think you have any problems in doing so, but you live in one Country and I 
live in another and over here as long as the warranty applies, I cannot change the oil 
myself, that is, even the most basic chores I cannot do.

My dealer has been around for quite a while and been a Yam. rep. for more than 15 
years, so I do trust him to change the oil; the rest I do myself using their premises. 
One thing just cropped out of my mind, in my case Yamaha here in Spain does not check 
valve clearance till the bike has done ~20.000 miles and to me that is ludicrous 
(crazy), so what is the deal with Yamaha where you live?
