The first thing I did when I got the Nissin 4 pot calipers, was to
"can" the stock master cylinder. I got a master from a ZX-11 and one from a
900RR (made by Nissin). Even when the ZX and the RR masters are very close, the
difference is enormous once on the bike. I'm currently using the ZX master, but
as soon as I get the small plastic cup for the RR master, I'm definitely putting
it back on.
If you get a Nissin master/calipers combo, there is no way the
stock set up on the Max, (new or old) can come even close.
