Same feeling same mod. I never expected R1 caliper pistons to have less
working area, have not checked, just followed other v-max owners comments. I
fully agree that right now the brake feels harder but it is also harder to
brake. I was blaming the already worn pads, but now I think differently. My
one finger braking has turned to a full hand grab. the only thing I have to
agree is that I can lock the front wheel at any speed with a handful on the
lever. Sorry to say I never tried it with the stock calipers. never checked
difference in piston dia., but that is the main thing.
I agree the R1 calipers look cool, but I'm looking for cool braking, not
cool looks..........
What a s**t. I'm happy to say they cost little, but still, what a
s**t.........
