It's a fairly new bike and has stock pads for that model. They are a different
part # to the R1 but I believe they work somewhere between a stock R1 and the
EBC-HH. I tried the HH in the 1300 and they were not as big a difference as they
were in my V-Max compared to stock R1 types.
This does make sense to me, they've put a more aggressive pad in the heavier
bike as standard equipment.
According to the XJR workshop manual the master cylinder is 14mm in diameter,
caliper ID is listed as 30.2 and 27mm.(I assume the same as the R1)
The V-Max lists the master as having a 15.87mm bore and caliper diameters of
33.96 and 30.33mm.
So tell me brake experts, what is the net effect hydraulically of using the R1
caliper with the bigger bore master of the V-Max?
Secondly, if I could adapt the XJR master to the Max would I be on the right
track?
