Hi John,

If you're moving a single file, once in a blue moon, I suppose using a 
USB stick isn't too bad.

I tend to share many files between my Host and Guest such that it'd be 
too inefficient to use a thumbdrive to transfer files.  Especially for 
my main, desktop machine which resides in a different room than my office.

Perhaps it's a language translation but if I saw someone using a USB 
stick to transfer files when they know that a `Shared Folder' option 
exists, well, I wouldn't think they're an efficient person.

The good reason is options.  If your situation is such that you are 
sharing your Guest VM across to external users, then you need to take 
some security precautions.  If that's not the case for you, go with 
Shared Folders.
