Where are the submitted patches from the community? Seems mostly just idle talk. ;-)

Guys, why don't you report the problem to the Apache leaders?
Jakarta Jetspeed has been in beta-alpha-beta status for almost 3 years.
Struts 1.1 has been in beta/RC status for ...ever. <grin>

Really... /-: Well, I use only Ant and ORO among Apache stuff... Seems that I have chosen he right projects then. :)

As for Geir "disappearing", I'd say we just got spoiled with the amazing
amount of time he used to spend on this completely volunteer project.

I'd like to see the 1.3.x build get a 'final release' moniker too, but I
doubt complaining to the "Apache leaders"

If it is so common that projects are dyeing here, then of course it is stupid idea to mock Apache leaders...

and will enthuse Gier or any other sane volunteer to spend more time
doing that work for free.

Why? Some counties are really rich... with 5x8 hours working you have
roof over your head, you have food... etc. If all of these is done, then
it is really not a that big sacrifice to do some voluntary job. Well,
OK, of course you need a computer and Internet... but it is still not a
big deal in many counties.

Open source is such a thankless job. ;-)

If you measure income in money.... :)

Yeah - I measure income in money. I have to, because that is what my mortgage company asks for, and our doctors, and farmers who provide food, and people who sell heating oil, etc.... (and my wine merchant...)

I measure volunteer work in other ways.

Daniel, I'd take your complaints seriously if I believed that you had good intentions here, but it's been my first-hand experience that that is probably not the case.

There is serious merit to what you say, but only from others with true care for Velocity will I take it seriously.
