Wes, Before I moved to Arkansas 15 years ago, I used a lot of poppers fishing for bass. It really did not make much difference on the shape in my case. I have made poppers from deer hair, cork, balsa, insulating building foam and a lot of other things. I think the main thing is the presentation. Cast the popper out and let it lay till all the rings stop, let it sit a while with no movement. Then just twitch it a bit and let it sit again. Do this several times and then pick up and cast again, letting the bug "plop" on the water does not hurt at all.. I think there is a Warm Water site that has a lot of info on poppers. Though not a popper, my Froggie has taken a lot of trout though to was tied for bass and gills. There are several good books out on poppers. Tony
