Thanks DonO. I spin-fished in my early chunking & winding days, but never felt that I had control of a big fish, so I wound up doing all my years of bass fishing right - handed and reeling right-handed.
Yes, when I cast, I strip line and haul with my left hand. I seem to have lots more control this way. Thanks for everone's help.
