Keith There is a book called  Hair-Hackle Tying  Techniques & Fly Patterns  by Gordon Mackenzie.  Frank Amato Publications.  ISBN 1-57188-229-4 for the spiral bound version.   A most excellent book for flies tied with this method.  He has some beautiful salmon  and steelhead patterns in it.  You could work from these ideas.  I picked mine up at Barnes and Noble.
