Joe,

The wind knot is in one of those Orvis Braided Tapered Leaders. I'm not so sure about tying in the uni-uni knot thing. I think if I brush on some superglue, let it dry and cut the offending loops off, I should be fine. I'm not that worried about the knot failing that much.

When I get a wind knot in my leader, I cut it out and reattach the two pieces with a double uniknot. Then I hit it with a drop of super glue. The leader is just about as strong as it was before the wind knot (@ 90%), and there is less chance of the leader popping apart as it can with a wind knot.
