Yes, you can connect the ethernet just like any other computer. However, in order to get the mac to transfer files between the PC, you need to make sure you have the appletalk (I think it's called that under the XP network config) network software installed on the PC and bound to your ethernet adapter. If you're just looking to surf the internet, get email, etc. you should be ready to go when you hook up your mac. Hope it works well!

I have a Mac LC 580 that has a built in Network Connection. Is it possible to connect to a PC Running Windows XP. I have a 3COM Homeconnect network running 3c450's but I was able to use a COMPAQ NC 3121 on the XP [it wouldn't accept the 3c450's]. It talks to the 3COM
Router. Would it be possible to connect the Mac to one of the ports. I have two 15' Crossovers If I add a crossover connector in the middle I should end up with a 30' direct cable. The Mac is not close enough to my PC's to use shorter cables. Else can I connect
directly to the XP Machine
