There is one exception to that. Printers. If there's a Laserwriter or other printer that "speaks" Appletalk, directly connected to a LAN, you can set it up as a "local" printer on an Appletalk Printing Device "port".

I am just curious because Microsoft says:
"Convert or upgrade your network printers to support the TCP/IP protocol. This network protocol is supported by current versions of Macintosh and Microsoft operating systems."
I might like to share a printer on my network and access them with older Macs some day, so thanks for any info...
