might that not increase the value of vintage Macs - the only ones left that
can run with the software
or has an extinction event occured from which the fallout may take time to
see but long in effect?

where are the young, enterprizing ones setting out to take advantage of the
price drops in the chips made by the other guys who will eagerly seek a new
consumer?
will they launch a line of cherries? or sour grapes? or maybe pomegranetes?

where are those knowledgeable experienced one who were discarded by Apple?
are they organizing to launch a line that will skyrocket to success on the
fuel of Apple's errors?

Well, nope. It's happened. See macworld.com or macnn.com or
slashdot.org or macslash.org for details. The Mac is switching to
Intel.

I am amazed. It's the end of an era. Every major computing platform in
the world will run on the same architecture. And it's the oldest and
arguably the worst. CISC has won. One ISA to rule them all, one ISA to
find them; one ISA to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.
