Good question, especially considering this list's title. It might do but mainly I expect little effect. As far as new machines go, it will lose Apple some sales (from deserting PowerPC loyalists - but I don't know where they'll go) and it will gain some (from ignorant buyers who see a "standard" chip or just more GHz).
