One thing that'll be good out of this is eliminating whatever there is in the hardware for "flipping bytes" between the PCI bus and the rest of the system. PCI is intel's invention, thus it's little endian. Shoehorning that into a system where everything else ran big endian had to be an engineer's nightmare. It will be total Fandemonium!
