I agree with Chuck, focus your attention on the
backside where the screw comes through the nut that's
welded to the fender there - no worries about paint
damage there, and because of the spacer on the front
side it's difficult to get any penetrating oil in
anyway from that side.
The stock screw is a panhead, m6x1.0, and it's plated
-I've seen them in both straight-slot and Phillips
head, and I honestly couldn't say which is correct for
your car. You MIGHT be able to find something similar
locally. I looked around a bit on the 'net and the
results were disheartening - jbugs gets $3/pr for
straight-slot screws and another $1.75/pr for the
spacers, and judging by their photo you'd be better
off making those yourself from some nylon tubing.
Another outfit's picture of their headlight screws
shows a SHEETMETAL screw - I hope that's not what
they're really selling.
