Garrett,
Since you have a 59 too we should exchage notes often.
My car (bastardised to the core) has what I believe a 67 vintage trans
along with the whole axle and tube setup. The rear drums are ribbed (66-67 I
believe) and the fronts smooth.
I cant say whether the 'bastardiser' mixed n matched parts like you
describe. I did notice one thing tho. The axle tubes have one of a kind
mounting points for the rear brake lines. They are adjustable. The clamp like
setup can be moved along the tubes and tightened at a suitable spot. Ive never
seen such a setup in the junkyard trans I have seen. Also have a spare gearbox
which came out of a cherry 67 and that has the fixed supports.
I am interested in the pics you have. I have some myself and I hope to find
a way to share with you guys.
TIA
Asad
