I think I should measure this dimension on my bastardised 59.
I noticed something earlier. The car has a post 68 rear clip, and the
channel/groove for the engine bay seal does not align where the rear clip meets
the body. There is about an inch or so of misallignment. If I remember right,
the rear clip's groove is lower.
Leads me to think that the seal position was different in early and late
cars. Or maybe the engine was higher or lower with respect to the chassis and
thus the transmission.
The rear clip would be changed this week, if all goes well, to a 64
vintage one. Im hoping the groove would allign up by itself when things are in
place.
Im getting cold feet as I fear issues may crop up when the engine would
finally be put back on the finished car.
