There was the issue of voiceover not going to the speaker when you moved the phone from your ear in IOS 5 also for some of us at times. Sometimes it is delayed in moving to the speaker. As for your question is there a reason for a blind user to get an IPhone 5? If you have LTE network capability with your carrier that is of the specs that the IPhone is compatible with, that is one reason. Another is the faster processor, double the ram, the IPhone 5 is not as heavy to carry, it has a better speaker for much better sound, the microphone system has been upgraded, and there might be other reasons. Double the memory that the system has to work with is huge, especially for us as voiceover users. Even the bigger screen which you mentioned is an advantage to us as well since we also can take advantage of fitting more on the screen. So I'm not sure if you are hoping to conclude there is not a reason or just wondering if there is, but there you go.
