When I got my first iPhone back in 2014, my 13-year-old granddaughter showed me right off how to close out programs said that was really important. That was the only thing a sighted person ever showed me about what to do and not do with an iPhone.

Invariably, after a time, the phone started behaving oddly, things not working right, etc. Once I closed everything out of the app switcher it returned to normal. I know Apple says it is not necessary to take apps out of the app switcher, but my experience says the opposite. I do think that like any computer, there comes a time when the resources get maxed out and you have to close everything and often reboot to get it back to normal. So, feel free to not close apps out of the app switcher, but if the pone starts acting up, clear them out and see what happens.
