Pam, well you're lucky then. I don't see the problem on my 5c, but on my 5 it's horrible.
Cheers

I have an iPod Touch 5 and have noticed no difference in battery usage since
updating via Wifi to iOS 7.1. I use Bluetooth constantly, because I use a
Braille display, and I have brightness set to 0. Background app refresh is on.
I charge my iPod after about seven hours of usage, but this has always been the
case for me, and I've had two iPods, one a 4, which was stolen, and my new 5.

Slow down; you'll get there faster.

Okay,
Perhaps we can take a sort of straw poll? Four example, I am using the
for S and I updated through the cloud. I am having the battery drain
issue. Plus, my partner, who has a four, but is not a voice-over user,
also updated through the cloud and has the battery drain issue.

Perhaps, any others that have the battery drain issue could Teles if they
also updated via the cloud rather than iTunes? This might help us narrow
down the source of the problem.
Thanks, Sandy

rob in the today in iOS podcast, who is an engineer at LibSyn said

air and having their apps open. He strongly advocates that peple
backup to iCloud, backup to their computer several times, force quit
all their apps through the app switcher, reset network settings and
then connect the iPhone to the computer and have itunes download and
install the update. He insists this is the least problematic way to
update an iPhone.

I saw an increase in battery drain when I first upgraded to IOS 7.1 on
my 4S. I don't see it now though, but I didn't do anything specific to
reduce my battery drain at all. I did turn off bluetooth, but I didn't
think that was the culprit, since I didn't notice it was a big battery
hog before upgrading to 7.1. Maybe Dan is right and bluetooth in 7.1
is
more of a battery drain.

Hi,
I have been running IOS 7.1 on my iPhone 4S for about a week now and

be
something particular to some people's setup or perhaps it only does it
on
certain phone models. Is anyone with a 4S having this issue? If so,
I
guess it isn't the phone model.

I too have had the a battery drain since upgrading to 7.1.

I have turned off after charging then turned back on and it helps but
one
day the phone battery completely drained in half a day.
I called apple and they did a battery test and it was good so they
wanted
me
to completely erase and restore.
This had been done recently for another issue and I told them I would
continue to work with it and do it later if necessary.

Thanks for the earlier suggestion on checking background app refresh
and
turning off the drop box and fourswaure and google maps.
I will try that today.

The battery drains much faster now with IOS 7.1

I have bluetooth turned off.
I have noticed a new update always turns it on and I have to go turn
it
off
again.

Those around me who have IPhones are not having this issue and do not
use
voice over.
