I am having difficulty getting my z/VM 5.1 system to recognize an IBM
3494 Tape Library.
Initially the addresses within the tape library were defined as 200,
201. My IOCP had them listed as 300, 301. I was told this change would
have been sufficient to access the tape library, but I still can not
access the library.
My definitions for the IBM 3494 are:
CHPID PATH=(13),PCHID=113,TYPE=FC,SHARED
CHPID PATH=(17),PCHID=143,TYPE=FC,SHARED
TAPE CNTLUNIT CUNUMBR=300,PATH=(13,17),UNITADD=((00,16)), X
CUADD=F0,UNIT=3590
IODEVICE ADDRESS=(300,16),UNIT=3590,CUNUMBR=(300),PATH=13
The CE said a "LIBPORT=1" paramenter needed to be added to the IOCP. I
read through the IOCP macro defintions for CHPID, CNTLUNIT and IODEVICE
but didn't see a "LIBPORT" parmameter described.
Hopefully someone has an IBM 3494 tape library defined and is willing to
share their IOCP defintion for it.
