I meant the addresses were dfferent in the tape library and in the IOCP initially. Now they are the same, but the system is still not able to access the tape addresses. I know in order to use the library, it is necessary to have DFSMS RMS installed, but the system should be able recognize a path to those addresses. Is this assumption correct?
I thought DFSMS RMS was necessary to use the robotics within the ATL. I thought one could manually load the tape drives without having DFSMS RMS configured. Please advice. Thank you. Initially the addresses within the tape library were defined as 200, 201. My IOCP had them listed as 300, 301. I was told this change would have been sufficient to access the tape library, but I still can not access the library. My definitions for the IBM 3494 are: CHPID PATH=(13),PCHID=113,TYPE=FC,SHARED CHPID PATH=(17),PCHID=143,TYPE=FC,SHARED TAPE CNTLUNIT CUNUMBR=300,PATH=(13,17),UNITADD=((00,16)), X CUADD=F0,UNIT=3590 IODEVICE ADDRESS=(300,16),UNIT=3590,CUNUMBR=(300),PATH=13 The CE said a "LIBPORT=1" paramenter needed to be added to the IOCP. I read through the IOCP macro defintions for CHPID, CNTLUNIT and IODEVICE but didn't see a "LIBPORT" parmameter described. Hopefully someone has an IBM 3494 tape library defined and is willing to share their IOCP defintion for it. Thank you. Cecelia Dusha 703-697-2305
