Just one more question, Craig, if you don't mind.

Is my output from the "MMK install" command normal, or is
the %MMK-I-ACTNOUPD message an indication of a problem that needs fixing?

$ MMK install
If F$TrnLnm("Sys") .nes. "" Then Deass SYS
MCR Sys$Disk:[]miniperl.exe "-I[.lib]" installperl
  /perl_root/000000/perl.exe
  creating new version of /perl_root/000000/perl.exe
  /perl_root/000000/perlshr.exe

  /perl_root/lib/pod/perlvmesa.pod
  /perl_root/lib/pod/perlvos.pod
  /perl_root/lib/pod/perlwin32.pod
