discussion about radiation risk, make me think about Hydrogen explosion
risk on Ni+H reactors for dayly use...

from Defkalion Hyperion spec sheet I've estimated they use
a bottle of 32grams of H2 (200bar, 2liters), thus 16mol of H2
from wikipedia the estimated burning energy is
16molH2*286 kJ/molH2=4.576MJ

what is the concrete energy of a 4.6MJ explosion?
it is about 1.7 kgTNT equivalent ? ( TNT=2.72MJ/kg)

this seem equivalent to the energy of 92g of butane, (2.88MJ/mol 58g/mol
butane)
this mean about 1/5 or a camping-gaz CV470 http://cv470.co.uk/

I know that in France, in collective buildings, usual big butane bottle are
forbidden to protect firemen, but few CV470 are allowed.

however the big difference with H2 is that
- H2 leaks through many solids
- H2 sure will ignite
- H2 can burn at very low flow rate(few µg/s)

what is your opinion.
can you tell us what danger it is to compare to in real life?
