I've seen discussion about the problem of venting, and they says that in
case of abnormal venting
of the kernel, it is vented inside the "case", which is filled with argon.

see
http://www.defkalion-energy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=678
and page 16, section 6.b.ii

they need H2 at huge pressure, and this mean one need a compressor to reach
something below 50bars (see hyperion spec page 6, section 1.a.vi).
this is complex, expensive, and dangerous. bottle is easier.

maybe for big e-cat far from everywhere (boat, submarines, jungle), someone
will invent a self-fueling device, preparing it's own H2 from water, and
cooking the nickel and the catalyst just before the meal.

an alternative is to make bottle that last longer. sure if every home
install an e-cat, hydrogen technology will evolve to solve e-cat specific
problems. for now H2 technologys was either used for chemical industry,
research, or for future H2 car or fuel-cells... those needs are associater
with high consumption, usage at low pressure, high flux and short
duration... E-cat style need very few consumption, usage at high pressure,
no flux, long autonomy.

but also maybe you will be able to change the bottle like you change a
Campinggaz butane stove bottle, or an oil filter. why not every month,
yourself.
same for the nickel fuel.

maybe hydrides solid storage can help, but today they are made for
releasing à low presure (few bars, not few ten bars).
