This is another experiment that has not been independently replicated. It might not be real. If Shoulders or the Proton 21 claims are replicated then you would have stronger grounds for saying that cold fusion may involve materials other than hydrides. It is premature to say that now. Oriani's experiment might also call into question the need for hydrogen, but the only attempt to replicate that, reported at ICC18, failed.
