I agree "My Story as Told by Water" is one of the best 'fishing' books I've
ever read.

Other books by David Duncan - "The Brothers K" - about fly fishing and
baseball; "River Teeth" - a series of short stories, all pretty good though
not really fish related.

Any book by John Geirach is worth reading. Another essay format book I just
read in "The Habit of Rivers" by Ted Leeson, he's from Oregon State and
writes about the Deschutes, the Metolius, the Fall River, etc...

If you liked James Duncan's The River Why then run don't walk to get My
Story
as Told by Water. I'm currently reading it very slowly and savoring every
vision

Have fun
