Hi Wendy Normally if it's flashing amber it means it's not talking to the other modem to get the ADSL/internet connection. Sometimes, it's as simple as just turning the Airport unit off and back on again and it will correct itself. Other times, it's a matter of going through setting it up again to get it back talking to the other unit.
