Hi Daniel, thanks. I turned the Netgear and Time Capsule off and on and also restarted the laptops, no good.

I will have to try setting it up again. Do you suggest I 'Create Network' ?

Hi Wendy

Normally if it's flashing amber it means it's not talking to the other modem
to get the ADSL/internet connection.
Sometimes, it's as simple as just turning the Airport unit off and back on
again and it will correct itself.
Other times, it's a matter of going through setting it up again to get it
back talking to the other unit.

Hope that helps.

Kind Regards
Daniel

Hi James

I have a look at the programmes you suggest.

I haven't changed anything on the network other than telling the
MacBook to join it. I am now using an ethernet cable to the Netgear
to connect to the internet so that is all working okay, just the Time
Capsule that is flashing amber!

look for macstumbler or if still downloadable 'kismac trunk', both
are progs that scan you "air" for wireless networks in the
neighbourhood, make sure the wireless in the macbooks & netgear is
activated !!!
it then should show your time capsule & the other macbook (or maybe
just the netgear modem)
maybe you have an invisible character in the ssid, also spaces are
not allowed..... is the wep or wpa security code correct?
cheers James
