If I have the right idea (I am no lawyer) then a copyright must be hold by a 
legal entity, which is either a institution like a company or an idividual.
And you can't transfer a copyright to a not anymore existing entity, like a 
broken down company. I guess. *?* Or can you?

And all that assumptions that we need to make about legal stuff. I think that 
bites each other. "legal" and "assume"... *ugh*
(But probably we have no way around assuming something, before we have 
something we can deal with law.)
