What does the log file say? "ErrorText=A log of this error has been created. "

I don't know - I couldn't find the actual log file, but I also didn't spend to much time looking for it. The next time it comes up, I will look for the log file.

What's in the key: " RegSubPath=Microsoft\PCHealth\ErrorReporting\DW"

A search of the registry for the above line comes up empty - nothing found.

Does XP offer to send the error notice to Redmond? If so, you should do it.

I don't normally, but I did this time.

Anyone know what "Stage2url" signifies?

I don't.

Have you looked at the data file (sysdata.xml) referred to in "DataFiles"? ---- C:\DOCUME~1\Colgan\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER12.tmp.dir00\sysdata.xml

No, I was afraid to open it. The last time I got this msg was before double checking for a virus - so I wanted to make sure there was no virus before I opened it. I went back to look for it a bit later and all the folders in that main folder are now empty including the one where that original path went to.

Donlt think the .dmp file will make sense or even be readable. C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini091705-02.dmp

The error message is tryingto tell you what is wrong. We just have to find the relevant parts.

I've now blown the dust out of the inside of the computer (that was not the problem as the problem occurred after I did this) and uninstalled ZoneAlarm and installed Black Ice to see if ZA might have been the culprit because an update was done to ZA the same morn this problem started. Funny thing is - when I went to look for the ZA uninstall on my Start Menu - there was no entry for Zone Labs or Zone Alarm. I looked 3 times - and now am wondering if I'm not right in that ZA is the problem. If it didn't update properly or something. There was an option during the upgrade this time that I don't remember ever seeing when updating in the past. That entry was to update or do a clean install and it recommended the clean install so I tried that this time. I never once had a problem before doing just and update. So, now I wait to see what happens when I use my browsers. I hate to keep testing - it's hard on the hard drive to keep going into the reboot thing so I don't want to push my luck.
