Sounds like a hardware failure. How old is that system?
http://www.overclockers.com/tips00140/ might describe your failure if
it's several years old. Or, maybe your power supply was marginal to
start with and has deteriorated. Overheating also could be a cause. Is
your system full of accumulated dust, making the fans and heat sinks
inadequate? Memtest86 can find bad RAM, which easily could be your
problem. You can find it many places, but this one is particularly
