Hi Brent -- thanks for checking my page. It seems everyone in the world but
me can access it -:( I'm starting to wonder if I might be running into a
proxy server situation.

I agree wholeheartedly with your rant. I'm starting to seriously detest my
IPP. Now that she has changed to a Unix box, she has decided not to give
developers access to the cgi-bin, and doesn't want to hear me when I tell
her that as far as I'm concerned, access to the cgi-bin is the ONLY
advantage to being on a Unix box. She wants control over cgi's herself, but
my experience with her has been that it takes two-three weeks of emailing
her everyday to get a problem resolved (if it ever gets resolved), so now I
feel totally out of control. Well, she says, most developers don't have the
programming skills to handle cgi's. I readily admit that I'm not a
programmer, but I can get an answer in one day from WC folks like you, and
that's much better than waiting two or three weeks for her to (maybe) fix
my problem.

I'm trying to get some of my sites moved to Minerva.net at Jack
Killpatrick's recommendation. Both clients say they'll be happy to move to
another IPP if I want them to, but so far nothing has happened. Sitting
here reading Minerva's contract, I realized that I don't understand it
myself, so how the heck are my clients to understand it? They're asking me
how I want the server configured, which software, etc. Well, hell, if I
knew how to configure a server, what would I need them for? I'd just run my
own IPP. Jack says I should buy the space myself and resell it, but I
seriously don't want to get stuck in a loop of having to bill clients
monthly for $10. I have a hard enough time remembering to send out the
$1000 invoices. </rant>
