I don't understand. What could MS's implementation of Java have to
do with Netscape crashing?

Is it possible that you think that Netscape uses the Microsoft
implementation of the JVM when running on Windows?

What implementation of the JVM is "the standard version on Windows
platforms?" I take it you don't mean the MS implementation, because
you think that it is better than the standard one. Do you mean the
Netscape implementation of the JVM?

In fact, they couldn't, because the JVM specification Sun gave to the
ISO SG22 has a pretty fair number of internal inconsistencies; no single
implementation could be "fully-compliant." The Microsoft implementation
is closer to compliance than any other, including Sun's, and is much
closer than Netscape's.
