First, for Win95, make sure you have at least 32 MB of RAM. RAM is
cheap now and that is the least expensive way to improve the
performance of any PC today. Depending on it's vintage, your 486 will
take either 4, 32 pin sims or 2, 72 pin sims for a memory upgrade. If
you need help identifying the memory, email me.

Now, here comes the inevitable browser wars...

The big problem with all MS-IE before 4.0 is that it is missing the
ability to display the java script which many sites use to make fancy
buttons which change color or shape or whatever when you MouseOver
them. Otherwise you will see just about everything in MSIE as with
the equivalent (or latest) Netscape.

Netscape 4 will run slower than netscape 3. you can download ver 3 by
pointing your web browser or ftp client to
ftp://ftp7.netscape.com/pub/navigator/3.04/shipping/english/windows .
If ftp7 does not work, try just about any other number like ftp5 or
ftp6.

You can get the latest version directly from their web site.
