Hi Barry

Yes, you are right. I've had a lot of trouble in the past taking even WinNT
long name files to a Mac via *floppy*. This doesn't occur via a network.

HOWEVER... you are in luck :) I've got MacOS 8.1 and that corrects the
problem. I've just tried it with a this file name:

        logovariations.variations

Apple does advertise somewhere in the 8.x improvements text that it now has
a better pc disk reading program.
